I got this colony last year too, but so far I am waiting for the queen to lay eggs.

All the eggs laid in spring turned into winged males, and there was some doubt about if the queen had fully mated; but now all the males have been killed and there are 2 new workers in the nest, both smaller than the workers that came with the queen, so this colony may have been boosted with workers from the wild nest?

A 3rd new worker has been born, bringing up the workers to 19. Thank goodness there are no more winged males, as at last this colony is growing and I am so glad the queen is mated as she produced so many males at first it was looking like she might not be fully mated.
